Recipe: Easy Margherita Pizza

I never liked pizza as a child. I thought I was so strange - my brother and sister loved it, all the kids at school loved it; in fact, it seemed to be everyone's favourite food and I just couldn't get on board. As I got older, I realised the problem was the base. I don't like deep pan pizza, it's just too doughy for me and takes over the rest of the flavour; I love a thin crispy base with lots of fresh toppings I can really taste the flavour of. I started experimenting with cooking and I've finally perfected my ideal recipe for a margherita pizza. You can obviously add any toppings you like to this and adjust the cooking times to suit the way you like your pizza cooked.

Dr Oetker Ristorante Pizza

300 grams Bread Flour
1 teaspoon Instant Yeast
1 teaspoon Salt
200 ml Warm Water
1 tablespoon Olive Oil

Put the dry ingredients into a bowl and mix in the oil and water until you have a dough, slightly wet to touch. Knead the dough on a floured surface until you are able to roll it out into a pizza base.

At this point, you can add some tomato puree or any other sauce you like. If you'd like to mix your own yummy sauce, try adding basil and garlic to passata and spread it out on the base.

Finally, add your cheese and toppings and pop it in the oven for 10 minutes at Gas Mark 8 (240 degrees).

Grab your desired beverage and enjoy!

Take pizza from freezer, cook in oven for 10 minutes or so, grab desired beverage and enjoy!

If you opt for plan B, might I suggest a Dr Oetker Ristorante Pizza? I absolutely love these pizzas; they are so quick and easy and all of the flavours are amazing! Ham and Pineapple is my favourite, but I do like them all. The base is thin and crispy, with a lovely authentic Italian taste and the toppings are plentiful and fresh, even though it comes from the freezer.

These pizzas are great for parties and for lazy family evenings when you want something quick and easy, but you don't want to skimp on quality. Have you got a favourite flavour yet?
